Call for Applications: Swedish Institute Grants – The Creative Force Programme
“The Creative Force Programme Application” Deadline: 25 January 2017
The Swedish Institute is currently seeking applications from eligible entities for its “The Creative Force Programme” with an aim to strengthen democracy, human rights and freedom of expression in the programme’s target countries.
Creative Force finances collaborative initiatives involving Swedish and international organisations. They should specifically do this through collaborations which use either culture or the media as means for bringing about change.
Funding Categories
- Seed funding is available for such purposes as pilot projects, project start-ups and planning trips.
- Collaborative Projects: Funding is available for projects which contain a creative, capacity-building dimension and include activities such as seminars, workshops, training courses and visits.
Funding Information
- Seed Funding: Applicants can apply for a maximum of SEK 100,000. The maximum project period for seed funding is 12 months.
- Collaborative Projects: Applicants can apply for SEK 100,000−SEK 500,000 for a 12-month project or SEK 500,000–SEK 1 million for a project of max. 24-months’ duration.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants may be civil society organisations, foundations, public sector agencies, private sector agencies or other professional actors.
- The Swedish partner must have documented, relevant experience in the field and been registered in Sweden for at least one year.
How to Apply
Step 1: writing the application
Fill in and save the documents for the appropriate region and type of funding as specified below. Application documents are in English. Please note that it is always the Swedish partner that submits the application to the Swedish Institute.

You must now upload, fill in and save the appropriate following documents in order to complete the application:
- Budget form
- Letter of Intent (seed funding only)
- Memorandum of Understanding (collaborative projects only)
- Organisation assessment
- Risk analysis (collaborative projects only)
Step 2: submitting the online application
Fill in the online application form. All the necessary documents listed above (which you have completed and saved) should then be submitted via the online application form. Instructions on the form will guide you through the procedure. Please note that you can create and save an application in advance, allowing you to review it before submitting it to the Swedish Institute.
Be advised to submit your application in good time before the deadline in order to avoid last-minute problems.
After you have submitted your application, you will receive an email containing a reference number. Please refer to this number in all your contacts with the Swedish Institute.
Supplementary information
Applications must be received by the deadline and must be complete. Supplementary information will only be accepted if it has been requested by the programme manager.
